| KUALA LUMPUR, April 26 (Bernama) -- Section 75(1) of the Land Public Transport Act 2010 was enforced for the first time today when two taxi drivers faced the Magistrate's Court here for overcharging their passengers. Magistrate Nurdiana Mohd Nazari imposed a RM1,000 fine or one month's jail on J. Elanggo, 30, after he pleaded guilty to charging two British tourists, Evelyn Irene and her husband Rex Alan Frank an exorbitant RM459.20 instead of RM8 as displayed on the meter, for the executive taxi |
