Govt to set up Council to oversee and arbitrate Issues relating to Aviation |

PUTRAJAYA: The Government has announced plans to set up a National Aviation Council to oversee and arbitrate issues relating to the sector.
“Among its duties would be to manage policies relating to the industry and to mediate issues between Malaysia Airlines (MAS), AirAsia and Malaysia Airport Holdings Bhd (MAHB),” Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said yesterday.
The council, consisting of experts to be appointed within the next two months, would present key issues of the industry to the National Economic Council.
“It is time that we have a dedicated body which truly understands the industry to look into matters relating to aviation,” Najib told reporters at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre here yesterday.
